Former Alabama CB Terrion Arnold receives injury update for Week 12 vs. Colts
Former Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold will not take the field with the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The team officially announced on Saturday evening that Arnold had been downgraded for questionable to out with a groin injury.
He also will not travel with the team.
This is unfortunate for Arnold, who could have had a chance to redeem himself as one of the most struggling members of the Lions’ secondary despite the expectations for the rookie after he was so effective for the Crimson Tide, one of college football’s strongest powerhouses.
So far this season, he totals 38 combined tackles (30 solo) with one fumble recovery. He finished out his final year at Alabama with 61 combined tackles (38 solo) with one sack and one forced fumble. He also had 5 interceptions for 69 yards returned.

One thing he still doesn’t lack, though, is confidence.
“We’ve (proven we’re one of the best secondaries in the NFL),” he said in an interview with DetroitLions.com. “All you have to do is cut on the tape from last year and cut on the tape of this year. Then, on top of that, when you compare man to man coverage vs. everyone else in the league, it’s not even close. We play like 41 percent. Next closest was like 33 or 32 percent. That ain’t even close.”
Detroit and Indianapolis are set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET in Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday as the Lions continue their playoff push in one of their most optimistic seasons in recent history to date. And they’ll do it without Arnold in the fold for the time being, at least.
