Former Alabama DB Anthony Averett signs with new NFL team, per report

Former Alabama standout Anthony Averett is on the move.
The veteran defensive back is signing with the San Francisco 49ers, according to Aaron Wilson. Averett was most recently with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Averett played for Alabama from 2013-to-2017, helping the Crimson Tide win 2 national championships. He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 118 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
In 2021, Averett was a 14-game starter for the Ravens. He posted career-highs of 54 tackles and 11 passes defended. All 3 interceptions of Averett’s pro career came in the 2021 season.
In March 2022, Avrett signed with the Raiders. He went on injured reserve twice last season, limiting his playing time to just 7 games (6 starts). In those 7 games, Averett recorded 13 combined tackles, including 12 solo stops, and a pass breakup.
Over his pro career, Averett has played in 51 games (27 starts), logging 114 tackles and 23 passes defended.
