Former Alabama defensive back Brian Branch is having a career day for the Detroit Lions in NFL Week 6.

The versatile defender now has his first NFL game with multiple interceptions. Branch collected his 1st interception early in the 1st quarter. As the Cowboys were driving, Branch stepped in front of a pass intended for CeeDee Lamb. The pick resulted in a field goal for the Lions.

Branch’s 2nd pick came in the 4th quarter when the Cowboys were already in a 40-9 hole. Dak Prescott threw a pass over the middle intended for Jalen Brooks, but the ball sailed and Branch caught it. The DB almost ran the ball back for a pick-6 but was tackled at the 2-yard line.

Everything has gone right for Branch’s squad, as the team had a 47-9 lead over the Cowboys late in the 4th.

Branch came into the NFL with high expectations as a 2nd-round selection out of Alabama. So far, the DB has lived up to the hype. As a rookie in 2023, Branch collected 74 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3 INTs, and 1 sack.

Heading into Week 6, Branch already had 22 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and 1 INT this season.

At Alabama, Branch was a vital member of the 2020 National Championship squad. In 2022, his final season in Tuscaloosa, Branch earned First-team All-American and Second-team All-SEC honors. Over 3 seasons, the DB collected 172 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 4 INTs.

The Lions improved to 4-1 with this Week 6 win.
