Former Alabama LB Rashaan Evans is now a member of the Tennessee Titans, but he hasn’t forgotten his Alabama roots.

This week, Evans gave back to the Loachapoka community, which is located just west of Auburn where Evans grew up.

Per WLTZ.com, the players were thrilled to get the Adidas gear:

“If you would’ve seen those kids over there going through all the shoes and stuff… It’s like Christmas in August,” said Loachapoka coach Reco Newton.

“It felt amazing to have someone come back to the community and give to us. We’re very grateful for it,” said Loachapoka LB Brandon Bedgood.

Evans said it’s important to him that he uses his money from football to give back to the next generation of players:

“At the end of the day you play football, get all these accolades and achievements… The number one thing is what have you done at for other people at the end of the day. That’s what really matters,” Evans said.

Due to the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols, Evans wasn’t able to be there in person, but his gesture is one that will have an impact on the Loachapoka team for a long time to come.
