Former Alabama player, assistant lands HS head coaching job at alma mater

Tim Bowens is going back to Brooks High School. The former Alabama wide receiver is the new head coach of his high school alma mater.
Brooks High School, located in Killen, Alabama, made the announcement Wednesday on Twitter.

Bowens played wide receiver at Alabama from 1996-to-1999. After playing for the Crimson Tide, he got into coaching, getting his start as an offensive coordinator at Coffee High School in 2000. Bowens was the Tanner High School head coach for the 2002 season, winning Limestone County Coach of the Year recognition. He then returned to Alabama in 2003, working in various roles through the 2006 season.
Bowens bounced around the college ranks as an assistant at UAB, Samford, South Alabama and Georgia State from 2007-to-2018 before returning to the high school ranks. He was the head coach at Clark-Atlanta from 2019-to-2021.
