Former Alabama RB BJ Emmons is taking a year off from football, he told his hometown paper Morganton.com.
The ex-Tide back verbally committed to FAU in February after playing last season at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.
Emmons played at Alabama in 2016 where he rushed for 173 yards and one TD in eight games. He suffered a foot fracture that ended his season and elected to transfer last July. Last season for Hutchinson Community College, Emmons totaled 694 yards and 10 TDs.
Exiting high school, Emmons was rated the No. 2 RB in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He will continue to take classes at Hutchinson Community College this fall.
Lane Kiffin will have to wait at least another season before getting Emmons on campus, as his mother thinks her son will plans to attend FAU.
