Former Alabama RB scores first touchdown of season for new team
Former Alabama RB Trey Sanders scored the first touchdown of the season for TCU, as it climbed back into a tie with Colorado.
Sanders midway through the 2nd quarter had 4 carries for 15 yards, but on the touchdown, he bounced outside to the right, and coasted in from the 5-yard line for a 7-yard score.
A recruit out of the IMG Academy, Sanders was rated 5-stars and the No. 1 running back for 2019 on the 247Sports Composite.
Sanders experienced multiple injuries during his time at Alabama and missed the 2019 season, then redshirted. Sanders later played in 26 games over the past 3 seasons. His most productive year was 2021, when he rushed 72 times for 314 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Last season, Sanders played in 9 games, recording 14 carries for 80 yards and a TD. He last played against Austin Peay on Nov. 19. Two years ago, Sanders played in 13 games.
