Alabama lost a member of its quarterback fraternity on Thursday morning.

Former Tide quarterback Vince Sutton died after years of battling kidney disease and multiple strokes, which made him partially blind.

Before Jalen Hurts did so in 2016, Sutton was the last Alabama quarterback to start as a true freshman back in 1984.

He finished his college career with 1,102 passing yards, 10 touchdown passes, as well as 122 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns.

Sutton most recently spent his time as a high school football coach back in his hometown of LaGrange, Georgia at Dawson Street Christian School.
