An Alabama native and former Crimson Tide linebacker has reportedly returned to his home state to complete his college football career.

Hoover High School product Christian Bell is now at South Alabama according to a report by Creg Stephenson of AL.com. Bell joins the Jaguars as a graduate transfer.

Coming out of Hoover, Bell was a 3-star linebacker in the Crimson Tide’s 2015 recruiting class. He grayshirted and enrolled into UA in January. After one semester at Alabama, Bell decided to transfer to Wisconsin.

With one season of eligibility remaining in his college football career, Bell entered the NCAA transfer portal in January. On May 18, he committed to Illinois but then decommitted on June 1 tweeting, “Due to a uncertain situation I have decided to decommit from The University of Illinois! I want to thank the entire Illinois family and coaching staff for welcoming me ! With that being said I am opening my recruitment back up ! It’s not over until it’s over ! GODS PLAN.”

At Wisconsin, Bell redshirted in 2016. Over the past three seasons, he appeared in In 24 career games, totaling 8 tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble.
