Future Patriot Mac Jones? Alabama QB responds to being linked to New England
Mac Jones was unable to play in this past Saturday’s Senior Bowl game, but the former Alabama quarterback managed to boost his draft stock during his week in Mobile.
Jones appeared Tuesday on the NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.” In a clip shared from his appearance, Jones was asked about being linked to the New England Patriots.
“There’s all sorts of things out there, I guess, but for me, I got to meet with all 32 teams and got to meet with the Patriots,” Jones said. “There were some scouts there, so hopefully I left a good impact on them. I think Coach Belichick and Coach Saban obviously have a great relationship and I hope Coach Saban has good things to say about me. I assume he would. And obviously one of my buddies Damien Harris plays up there, too. I talk to him a good amount.”
The Patriots are expected to be looking for a quarterback in the upcoming draft after failing to make the playoffs this season with Cam Newton and company.
One thing’s for certain, Nick Saban will have plenty of good things to say about Jones if Belichick gives his friend a call about the Heisman Trophy finalist.
