The Alabama Crimson Tide have a need for a tight end entering the 2020 season, and they could get one from the graduate transfer ranks.

Per 247Sports, North Carolina TE Carl Tucker will take a visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend to check out the Alabama program.

According to Tucker, he’s already had discussions about his potential role in the Crimson Tide offense:

“We’ve been in touch pretty frequently, we’ve just been talking a little bit,” Tucker recently told BamaOnLine of his communication with the UA staff. “Just talking about how I’d be used in their offense and how he sees me fitting in to what they’re trying to do next year.

“I like that they win. I like that they’re very consistent in what they do. I like that they’re real. It’s Bama, they would be of high interest if they offered.”

Tucker was granted a sixth year of eligibility recently, and the 2020 season will be his last one in college.

During his time at North Carolina, Tucker caught 36 passes for 549 yards and 4 touchdowns.
