Greg McElroy understands the desire to be the quarterback for Alabama in the biggest games, but he also understands that for a player like Bryce Young is isn’t the end all be all.

That’s why the former Alabama quarterback told Paul Finebaum that the redshirt sophomore should be cautious as this week’s game against Texas A&M approaches.

For what it’s worth, it’s hard to see Bryce Young sitting this one out. He’s a big-time competitor and even though this Saturday’s game against Texas A&M has lost a lot of steam in terms of ranking, it’s still a personal challenge and a loss that Young wants to avenge.

That being said the Tide will be a big favorite to win whether he or backup Jalen Milroe plays. It’s a tough choice for Young, but with the meat of the Tide’s schedule ahead there might be some long-term thinking that comes into play if by Thursday he is still struggling to throw the ball like he’s used to.
