The AAF may have shut down but that isn’t going to stop the league’s former players from continuing to pursue their dreams of playing professional football.

Following an impressive performance in the lone AAF season for the Birmingham Iron, former Alabama lineman J.C. Hassenauer has reportedly landed a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. This news comes via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, who notes that the deal is pending a physical that Hassenauer would have to pass following his AAF career.

Hassenauer played in Tuscaloosa from 2014-2017, appearing in at least one game in every season of his collegiate career. A former Under Armour All-American from Minnesota, Hassenauer went undrafted coming out of Alabama but signed a practice squad deal with the Falcons following the 2018 NFL Draft.
