We don’t think Jalen Hurts will need any motivation for the 2017 season.

Being the starting QB for Alabama and chasing national championships are enough.

Hurts was named the SEC’s Offensive Player of the Year as a true freshman, and the sky is really the limit for his talent and ability.

Obviously, Hurts led Alabama all the way to the national championship game only to lose against Clemson, and he certainly didn’t finish like he had wanted. So, instead of running from it and trying to put it out of his mind, it’s at the forefront of his attention.

The SEC Network’s Laura Rutledge reported that Hurts’ phone screensaver is Clemson hoisting the national championship trophy this past year, and he sees that image many times throughout the day.

Some players try to run from their struggles, and some want to put the bad out of their minds forever. But not Hurts; he’s looking it square in the face and letting it motivate him every single day.

There’s lots of talk about Hurts entering the 2017 season. There are certainly question marks surrounding the passing game, and everyone is trying to make a storyline about 5-star dual-threat QB Tua Tagovailoa potentially beating Hurts out; however, I’m not buying that storyline, and I’m certainly not buying that Hurts will get beat out.

This is just another example of why Hurts, at his young age, has more poise than many other college football players.
