Jalen Milroe, Texas native, expresses love for Vince Young ahead of Week 2 bout vs. Texas
Jalen Milroe and Alabama are gearing up for the Week 2 showdown with Texas. Last season’s matchup ended with a 20-19 Crimson Tide victory.
Milroe revealed that someone he watched as a kid was Vince Young. Young’s jersey was prevalent in the Milroe household. Milroe was a fan of Young growing up.
“Vince Young is someone I did watch, as far as highlights,” Milroe said. “My family loved Vince Young. Growing up, I was always a Vince Young fan. He was my first jersey that I bought. I love Vince Young.”
Young was an electric player for Texas back in the day. Young played in Austin from 2003-2005. One of Young’s more memorable games came against USC in the 2006 National Championship.
Milroe’s game looked similar to Young in the season opener on Saturday against MTSU. Alabama ended up winning 56-7.
After one game as Alabama’s starter, Milroe is well on his way. The Longhorns and Crimson Tide face off Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
