Alabama baseball’s Jason Jackson has earned the 2023 ABCA/Marines National Assistant Coach of the Year.
Jackson led the Tide to a 13-6 record and an NCAA Regional Championship after taking over as interim head coach for the final 2 months of the season. He also led Alabama to its first Super Regional since 2014.

During his time as interim head coach, Jackson led Alabama to 3 consecutive series wins during the final month of the regular season, picking up wins over Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and Ole miss. He also picked up a pair of wins at the SEC Tournament.
Alabama’s pitching staff also recorded 593 strikeouts on the season, matching the 1999 team’s single-season strikeout record.
Jackson took over as interim head coach after then-head coach Brad Bohannon was fired after a widespread investigation into suspicious betting activity on Alabama’s game against LSU last season.
Jackson remains on Alabama’s coaching staff, retaining his assistant position as Rob Vaughn takes over as head coach.
