After committing once this spring, Baton Rouge native Joel Williams has set a deadline for a new decision date.

One of the top athletes in the nation for the 2020 recruiting cycle, Williams commit to Florida over LSU and Tennessee on May 19 but backed off that pledge a few weeks later on June 10. Now he’s announced his plans to make another commitment on Sept. 9 with Alabama, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky and Houston as the six schools he is still considering at this time.

The Madison Prep Academy star is currently rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 17 athlete in the nation and No. 11 overall prospect from Louisiana by 247Sports Composite Rankings. His original commitment to the Gators came after visits to Florida, LSU and Tennessee.

However, after committing to Dan Mullen’s program, Williams camped at Alabama and earned a scholarship offer. Soon after Nick Saban extended Williams an offer, he decommitted from the Gators.
