Alabama quarterback Bryce Young suffered an injury in the the second quarter of last week’s 49-26 win over Arkansas, forcing redshirt freshman Jalen Milroe into action. Monroe was plenty adequate in the victory and could see more time in this week’s matchup against Texas A&M as Young remains a gametime decision.

Former Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson recently weighed in on Monroe on WJOX and the “McElroy and Cubelic In the morning” program, who could reasonably see a good bit of action in the upcoming contest with the uncertainty that still surrounds Young.

“Any time you lose your starting quarterback, it’s going to affect you,” Wilson said. “Bryce (Young) is probably the biggest injury right now.”

“Milroe came in and did some really good things,” he said. “Obviously showed he’s one of the fastest guys on the team, but I thought he threw the ball well, protected it (well) for all but 1 pass… kind of forced it in there. Besides that I thought Milroe played really well and he’ll probably play a lot this week.

Milroe finished the last game 4-of-9 passing for 65 yards with 1 touchdown through the air and 1 rushing touchdown. It will be interesting to see how things shake out as the Aggies and the Crimson Tide face off at 7 p.m. CT in Tuscaloosa.
