Jonah Williams knocked for NFL Combine measurement, gets support from Pro Bowl tackle
The NFL Combine is underway in Indianapolis, with measurements and meetings taking place the next couple of days before the on-field tests take place over the weekend.
A potential first-round pick, Alabama OL Jonah Williams, is in Indy, and he’s already drawing some attention.
Per ESPN’s Todd McShay, Williams’ arms were a bit short, which he says makes it questionable whether Williams can stay at offensive tackle or be forced to move inside to guard:
Alabama OT Jonah Williams- 33 5/8” arms length. Doesn’t prevent him from playing OT in the NFL but certainly doesn’t help his cause. Ideally 34 1/2” or longer.

However, six-time Pro Bowl OT Joe Staley of the San Francisco 49ers saw McShay’s tweet and was quick to throw his support to the Alabama star:
? extending my 33 inch arms to show you that. Measurables are for the birds https://t.co/S1QMQFawBv

Williams is projected to be a first-round pick by almost every analyst with a mock draft. His game tape shows his skills, but the rest of this week in Indy will be important for his draft stock.
