With the 2019 NFL Draft just around the corner, Josh Jacobs’ stock continues to rise among the analyst that annually study the college players entering the professional ranks.

If you buy into what those people are selling, the news was good for Jacobs this week as the former Crimson Tide running back apparently crushed his appearance at Alabama’s Pro Day event on Tuesday. That’s especially notable considering Jacobs didn’t get to participate in the physical tests at the NFL Combine due to a groin injury.

Needless to say, that injury didn’t affect Jacobs this week.

Based on what longtime NFL scout Gil Brandt shared recently on Twitter, Jacobs blew away those in attendance this week in Tuscaloosa.

“When I ask my scouts on the ground at pro days about player workouts, they classify them this way: great, very good, good plus, good, average, ok,” Brandt said. “My scout at Alabama’s pro day yesterday added another category for RB Josh Jacobs: EXCEPTIONAL. Jacobs cemented his 1st-round status.”

If that perception matches what NFL teams see from Jacobs, look for the Crimson Tide running back to be among the rare running backs selected in the first round of the upcoming draft.
