Juwan Gary and Jusaun Holt, Alabama transfers, announce SEC, Big 10 destinations
Jusaun Holt, who announced his entry into the transfer portal about 3 weeks ago, has found his new home in college basketball, and he’s staying in the SEC. Similarly, former teammate Juwan Gary announced his new program
Holt announced on Instagram that he committed to play at Georgia under new coach Mike White, while Gary will play at Nebraska.
As a freshman guard in 2021-22, Holt appeared in 22 games for the Tide. He scored 15 points and had 35 total rebounds. Gary, a redshirt sophomore, played in 29 games this past season, making 16 starts. He averaged 6.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game and finished fourth on the team in blocks (16). Holt joined the program as a 4-star recruit out of Roswell, Georgia where he was the No. 112 overall prospect in 2021 and No. 23 small forward, per the 247Sports Composite.
A Columbia, South Carolina native, Gary was a 4-star recruit, ranked in the top-100 overall in the class of 2019 on the 247Sports Composite. Gary chose Alabama over 8 other scholarship offers, including Georgia and the hometown Gamecocks.
Early in his career, Gary suffered a preseason torn ACL that sidelined him for the 2019-20 campaign, and caused him to take a redshirt for that season.
