Kirk Herbstreit believes former Alabama receiver De’Vonta Smith has a major role to play in the Super Bowl on Sunday night.

Smith, in his 2nd season out of Alabama, was the Eagles’ 2nd leading receiver this season with 1,196 yards. He also scored 7 touchdowns this year.

Herbstreit predicted on Sunday afternoon that Smith — along with Isiah Pacheco, Frank Clark and Javon Hargrave — will play a “pivotal role” in the outcome of the Super Bowl.

Smith has been a big-time player for the Eagles in the postseason as well. He caught 6 passes for 61 yards in the Eagles’ win over the Giants in the divisional round. He also went for 36 yards in Philly’s blowout win over San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game.

Alabama will also be represented in the Super Bowl by former players Landon Dickerson, Josh Jobe and Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles are consensus 1.5 point favorites over the Chiefs on Sunday night.
