Even though he has been at Florida Atlantic the past two seasons, Lane Kiffin has never shied away from praising Alabama on social media, especially players he coached.
Tuesday, Kiffin tweeted in response to the popular video of Jalen Hurts receiving a standing ovation at Alabama’s graduation this past weekend. Kiffin says he’s proud of Hurts and notes he has come a long way since high school. The former Crimson Tide offensive coordinator is a little late to the party when it comes to the video, but Hurts will probably appreciate the tweet just the same.
So proud of u!! #class. A long ways from meeting u in high school. @JalenHurts @AlabamaFTBL https://t.co/bYfU57enPz

In addition to coaching Hurts in his freshman season, Kiffin also recruited Hurts out of Channelview, Texas. He saw a bright future for Hurts early on.
Lane Kiffin said after first evaluating QB Jalen Hurts he went back and said “I think he”ll be a first round draft pick.”
