On Wednesday evening, Alabama AD Greg Byrne made a lot of fans happy by announcing that “Dixieland Delight” was returning for homecoming this weekend.
The song has been banned since 2015 because of bad language added to the lyrics by Alabama students, but they’re getting another shot.
And, as expected, fans went wild for the news, as they have been pleading for it to come back ever since it was banned a few years ago. Naturally, they took to Twitter to celebrate the news (and also to say they weren’t necessarily going to abide by the “stick to the lyrics” directive from the administration).
