Thanks to Alabama assistant coach Bryan Hodgson, Alabama fans have really come together for the family of Luke Ratliff.

If you missed the tragic news, Ratliff passed away recently after contracting COVID according to his mother.

Ratliff had attended nearly every Crimson Tide basketball game in recent seasons and was the heart and soul of the Alabama student section during the team’s run to the SEC regular-season and conference tournament titles.

Following Luke’s passing, Hodgson set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help the Ratliff family in their time of need.

The goal of $40,000 was quickly reached and donations have risen to $51,000 as of this posting.

If you would like to help the Ratliff family, you can donate to the GoFundMe fundraiser here.

Hodgson provided the following comment after setting up the fundraiser:

I have set up this fundraiser to help Luke’s family cover any and every expense they may incur during this tragic time. All final funds will be sent directly to Luke’s family. Thank you all for your support and love.

Per request from GoFundMe…I want to inform you that all donations will be sent directly to Luke’s mother Pam Ratliff and the Ratliff family, to help cover any costs and expenses incurred through the tragic loss of their son and brother. This includes funeral and memorial service costs, as well as any travel costs, or expenses incurred from missing work. I am strictly organizing this as a friend of the family, to help use my reach to provide help for them. The donations will be set up to be directly withdrawn to the family. Everything and anything is greatly appreciated.
