Media reacts to Miami Dolphins win in Tua Tagovailoa’s first start

Tua Tagovailoa is 1 star, 1 win in the official NFL book. The Miami Dolphins managed a 28-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Tagovailoa’s Dolphins won despite a box score that includes the eye-popping numbers of Miami being out-gained by Los Angeles 471-145 and the Rams gaining 31 first downs to the Dolphins’ 8.

Dolphins offense may just need some time to adjust to Tua Tagovailoa before overreactions. Dolphins scored 67 combined points over their last 2 games before Sunday. Luckily for Dolphins, they get to improve after a win because D/ST picked them up.

Even if the stats weren’t impressive, Tagovailoa pulled off a rare feat.

Tua Tagovailoa is the first rookie to win a game against the Rams since the start of the 2013 season. Other rookie QBs had gone 0-6 against them since then.

Dolphins coach Brian Flores credited the former Alabama standout for making the plays needed to get the win.

"We won the game. It's a team football game. It's not a one man show. he made enough plays for us to win the ball game. Collectively, if we don't play well in one phase we need to play well in other phases," Dolphins coach Brian Flores said about Tua.
