After missing the first part of the Titans voluntary minicamp, former Alabama running back Derrick Henry is back in Nashville, and in good shape.

Henry caused a mini-controversy last month when he chose to forgo the practices to focus on taking finals as he tries to earn his degree from Alabama. Henry left Tuscaloosa a national champion and a Heisman winner, but not a graduate, something that he has been working toward this offseason.

Though many in the media and some within the Titans organization were reportedly upset with Henry for missing the non-required practices in favor of going to class, all now appears well in Titans land.

On Henry’s absence, Titans’ head coach Mike Mularkey told USA Today, “He doesn’t have to (report for voluntary workouts). None of them have to. Again, we’ve got a good group going on, working right now. From what I understand, he’s in school, and I don’t think there’s anything negative about that.”

As for Henry’s current status, former Mississippi State head coach and current Titans running backs coach Sylvester Croom said he’s ready for NFL action.

“He looks great, is moving well and seems to be in very good shape for this time of the year,” Croom said of Henry on the Titans’ official website. “It’s obvious he’s been doing a whole lot of work in the time he’s been away.”
