Alabama has lost plenty of star power this offseason to the NFL but it appears one of the key question marks in Tuscaloosa this offseason is close to being answered.

Junior running back Najee Harris has yet to publicly declare his intentions regarding his decision but after most suspected the Crimson Tide tailback would be leaving school early for the 2020 NFL Draft, Chris Breece of CBS 42 is reporting that Harris has informed the Alabama coaching staff that he will return for his senior season in Tuscaloosa.

Harris’ return would be a huge boost to Alabama’s offense next season after rushing for 1,224 yards and 13 touchdowns last season for the Tide. His return would also be compounded by the fact that Tua Tagovailoa, Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs have all left early for the NFL.

While there is still plenty of talent remaining on the offensive side of the ball in Tuscaloosa, the Alabama offense is likely to lean more on the run game next season. If Harris didn’t return, the starting tailback spot for Nick Saban’s program would be a big question mark heading into 2020.

If Harris does decide to return, he would likely be the focal point of the Alabama offense next season.

The deadline for declaring early for the 2020 NFL Draft is Jan. 20.
