The SEC Coach of the Year is happy where he’s at leading the Alabama basketball program.

That was the message Nate Oats shared during a recent appearance on Birmingham-based WJOX 94.5 FM radio show The Roundtable.

After leading Alabama to a regular-season SEC title and the 2021 SEC Tournament title, Oats’ name has been attached to recent job openings at Indiana, Iowa State and Minnesota but the Crimson Tide coach says there’s nothing to that speculation.

In fact, he recently signed an extension to stay at Alabama.

“Greg Bryne was great to me, I love working with him, we love being at Alabama,” Oats said on the show.

According to Oats, his agent has not even discussed the possibility of leaving Alabama.

“To be honest with ya, I don’t even know if anyone has reached out to my agent,” Oats continued. “If they have he’s probably told them, ‘Thanks but no thanks.’ I’m locked into coaching this team.”

Here is a clip of the show shared by WJOX host Jim Dunaway.
