NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah impressed by Alabama QBs, makes NFL comp for Tua Tagovailoa
This summer, we should finally get the quarterback battle between Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts for Alabama’s starting job that we thought we’d get this spring.
Now that Tagovailoa’s injured hand is doing much better, he’s back on the field, and he and Hurts are impressing at this weekend’s Elite 11 camp in Los Angeles.
NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah caught some of the action, and he was impressed with both athletes. In fact, he compared Tagovailoa to a left-handed Russell Wilson:
Loved watching @Tuaamann_ tonight. @BuckyBrooks nailed it— he’s a left handed Russell Wilson. Quick feet, ball jumps out of his hand and he has ++ anticipation, velocity and accuracy. Can’t wait for you guys to hear our interview with him on MTS pod. He was excellent.

He was also impressed with Hurts’s maturity and poise, but missed the right-hander’s throwing session:
I was impressed with @JalenHurts tonight. First of all, I love his size and his all business approach. His maturity/poise was very evident. Unfortunately I missed his throwing session but I was told he threw it really well.

This summer, Hurts and Tagovailoa will have quite the battle. Who earns the starting job remains to be seen, but it should be exciting for fans to watch.
