Nick Saban gives impassioned speech about why college football matters
As we continue to navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic as a country, many have wondered whether trying to play college football this fall is even worth it.
As of right now, the ACC, Big 12, SEC, AAC, Conference USA and Sun Belt are all going to give football a try this fall, but that hasn’t been without challenges.
Don’t tell Alabama coach Nick Saban it’s not worth giving the season a chance, though. As you can see below, he delivered a passionate response about playing for the players:
"We want to play for the players"

“We have a lot of people out there working really hard,” he said. “Everybody acts like we want to play for the money. … We want to play for the players. I want to play for the players.”
He continued, saying he wants players to have a chance to secure their futures by working toward NFL contracts:
Saban: "This is about the players. Everybody acts like we want to play for the money. We want to play for the players. I want to play for the players. We have a lot of guys on our team that can create a lot of value for themselves by playing this season."
