Nick Saban and golfer Justin Thomas have gotten closer over the years as the former Alabama golfer has become a PGA Tour star.
Last year, Thomas won The PLAYERS Championship, compiling a score of 14-under par. That was good enough to hold off Lee Westwood by 1 stroke.
On Wednesday, Saban and Thomas were able to golf 3 holes together as Thomas prepares to play The PLAYERS Championship again:

What advice did Saban have for Thomas? He said Thomas isn’t “defending” his title. Saban told the ex-Tide golfer to simply have fun and go win it again (via PGATour.com):
“I give him the same speech I give our team. When you win a championship they say you have to defend,” Saban said. “You don’t have to defend. No one can take away what you did last year. Just go have fun and do it again.
“There’s no such thing as defending a title, in my opinion. If they took it away from you, it would be different. But you’re always going to be a PLAYERS champion and you’re always going to have that special place in the locker room, so just have fun and win it again.”
Can Thomas win it all again? We’ll find out over the course of the weekend.
