When it comes to being the coach of the year, Alabama’s Nick Saban should probably win every season.

Yes, he gets better players than most schools, but that’s thanks to the incredible system he’s put in place and his tireless efforts on the recruiting trails. Then, he takes that talent and converts it into dominance on the field.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that Saban headlines the list of three finalists for this year’s AP Coach of the Year award. Joining the Alabama coach are UCF’s Josh Heupel and Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly.

Interestingly, those are three of the four coaches of undefeated FBS teams. The only one who got left out was Clemson’s Dabo Swinney.

The winner of the award will be announced on Monday, and it’ll be interesting to see who AP voters give the award to.
