Nick Saban had high praise for his coaching staff after what was a dramatic turnaround from the early part of the season.

Alabama wasn’t looking like a Playoff caliber team in September after a loss to Texas, but now the Tide are SEC Champions and have a strong case to reach the College Football Playoff.

For Saban, the turnaround can be credited to his coaching staff.

“Our coaches did a fantastic job with these players,” Saban said in his postgame press conference. “Fantastic job of helping guys develop and improve. And I really appreciate our staff of people who contributed to the success of this team. It’s not about me, it’s about everybody on this team that contributed to the success of this team, players and coaches alike.”

It started with Jalen Milroe. The quarterback looked shaky in his first couple of starts, but by the end of the season, he looked like one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the SEC.

The development of Milroe led to a transformation of Alabama’s offense, which led to a dramatic turnaround.

Alabama will now await its fate. The CFP selection show takes play Sunday at noon ET.
