No. 3 Alabama faces off against No. 11 Texas in what should be an incredible game in Tuscaloosa this Saturday.

We’ll (hopefully) get to see the Tide face off for a full 4 quarters against Texas starter Quinn Ewers, who had a strong game against the Tide last year before leaving at the end of the first quarter with an injury.

On Wednesday, Nick Saban spoke via the SEC’s weekly teleconference to discuss the reality of going against a QB the caliber of Ewers.

Here’s what he had to say.

“He’s a really good player, he does a great job with their offense, reads coverage well, he’s accurate with the ball,” Saban said. “He’s got really good skill guys outside, they’re able to take advantage of that, so it’s going to be a real challenge for us to affect him, No. 1, but also do a good job of covering their guys.”

Neither Texas nor Alabama were challenged in Week 1 against Rice and MTSU, respectively. Texas downed the Owls 37-10 behind Ewers’ 260 passing yards with 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

It should be a fun duel at QB, no doubt. Jalen Milroe had a promising start against MTSU last Saturday, doing it with both his legs and his arm. He threw for 3 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns, something an Alabama QB has never before done.

Milroe, a Texas native himself, faces a good Longhorns defense Saturday, too. Everything about this one screams classic, folks.
