Alabama has been one of the top college football programs in the country for more than a decade. Nick Saban, who has been the Crimson Tide’s head coach since 2007, has seen a plethora of former players go on to have success in the NFL.

So, it’s not a surprise that there are a ton of former Alabama standouts in the NFL these days. But Saban was recently made aware of an incredible fact: there’s currently a former Crimson Tide player who is a starter at every position in the NFL, and they’re the only college football program right now that has that.

“I never knew that,” Saban said during his Thursday radio show (h/t Charlie Potter of 247Sports.com). “I know we have a lot of guys playing in the league, and they certainly did a great job and are great ambassadors of the University of Alabama. Every week, I get a report on how they’re all doing.

“Really, really proud of those guys. I think that because they’ve played well and represented their teams well that it really creates more opportunities for guys on our team now, which I think is a culture that you really love having in your program.”

One position that Alabama didn’t have covered recently was quarterback. But that changed last week as Tua Tagovailoa made his first career start for the Miami Dolphins. The former SEC Offensive Player of the Year was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, and it took only until Miami’s seventh game of the season for him to earn the starting job.
