Nick Saban responds to tampering allegation involving transfer WR Tyler Harrell
Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide enter the 2022 season as favorites to win the national championship.
They had to add some reinforcements to their receiving corps after losing John Metchie III and Jameson Williams to the NFL Draft, but they did that through the transfer portal, bringing in Jermaine Burton from Georgia and Tyler Harrell from Louisville.
On Wednesday, Saban was asked about Louisville coach Scott Satterfield’s implications about Alabama tampering with Harrell before he was in the portal. Saban shot down that speculation quickly:
Nick Saban was asked today about Scott Satterfield implying Alabama tampered with former Louisville receiver Tyler Harrell. Saban said, “We don’t tamper with anybody.”

Did the Tide tamper? Or, was the opportunity to become the next Jameson Williams and play with reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young simply too good for Harrell to pass up?
Whatever the case, Harrell is in Tuscaloosa for the 2022 season. We’ll see if he can become a breakout star for an elite Alabama team.
