Nick Saban announced on Wednesday that Alabama will lose some depth on the defensive line.

On the SEC coaches media teleconference, Saban said senior Justin Eboigbe won’t return this fall after injuring his neck. When asked if he’d be back on the field this fall, Saban said, “I don’t think so.”

“He had a procedure done that would enhance his opportunity to be able to play in the future,” Saban said, “but I don’t think that’s going to come this season.”

Eboigbe appeared in the first 4 games of the season, but did not play in the road game at Arkansas on Oct. 1.

Eboigbe is from Forest Park, Georgia and he made 11 tackles this season in the first 4 games. He recorded 19 tackles in each of the previous seasons.

A 4-star recruit coming out of high school, 247Sports ranked Eboigbe as the No. 70 player nationally, the fifth-rated strongside defensive end and the No. 10 player in his state.
