Nick Saban and Alabama won their 8th game of the season Saturday after the Tide defeated the Rebels 30-24.

It sure wasn’t pretty at times, but after last week’s loss to LSU, Saban and company will certainly take it. Quarterback Bryce Young really stepped up for the Crimson Tide’s offense. Young completed 21-of-33 for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Alabama’s offensive unit.

Alabama’s defense stepped up in the second half, too, allowing Ole Miss just one touchdown in the third quarter. The Tide’s defense stopped Ole Miss on the last drive of the game when it mattered most on 4th down.

Following the win over Ole Miss, Saban spoke to CBS Sports.

“Our guys really competed in this game. They really played hard in the second half. I mean, we stubbed our toe a lot in the first half and just kept playing the next play,” Saban told CBS Sports.

“That’s the kind of identity that we really want to re-establish in the program. I’m so proud of these players for what they did tonight. That was great. Ole Miss played a really good game.”
