Nick Saban shares latest injury update on key Alabama DL Christian Barmore
Alabama DL Christian Barmore played sparingly behind some veteran defensive linemen for the Crimson Tide as a redshirt freshman in 2019, but when he did see time, he was effective.
In 12 games, Barmore recorded 26 tackles (6 for a loss), 2 sacks and 2 pass breakups. He is expected to take a big step forward this fall.
However, according to coach Nick Saban, Barmore is still working his way back after being limited with an injury in recent weeks:
Nick Saban says he cannot yet say whether Christian Barmore can play Saturday. “He’s worked every day this week and he’s made progress. We’re encouraged by the progress that he makes. I think he gets a little frustrated because he wants to be 100 percent."

Whether or not Barmore plays against Mizzou on Saturday might not matter too much, as the Tide enter that game in Columbia as heavy favorites.
However, Barmore is getting some serious NFL Draft buzz heading into this season, so the team would like to have him healthy sooner rather than later.
