Nick Saban has retired from his days of coaching Alabama football. However, his persona as an old-school, no-nonsense coach is alive and well in a new commercial for Vrbo.

The popular vacation rental website recently unveiled a commercial featuring Saban playing the role of rigid rental owner. The commercial begins with a family of 4 arriving for a vacation, only to find Saban sipping coffee and denying a check-in 5 minutes ahead of the listed check-in time.

Once inside the rental, Saban combs through an extensive playbook-style rule book. No games and no fun are key rules, including no kids allowed inside the house.

Even time in the hot tub is limited.

“You guys got about 10 minutes because this is daddy time in the tub,” Saban deadpans.

The commercial is funny, but it’s only funny because one can truly envision Saban operating a vacation rental in the same manner that he led his football program for many years. Here is the commercial from Vrbo in all its glory:

Vrbo is no stranger to the college football landscape, sponsoring the Citrus Bowl and Fiesta Bowl in recent seasons. Now, the company is using one of the beloved figures in the entire sport and pulling it off in brilliant fashion.
