Nick Saban takes home a national Coach of the Year award
There aren’t many national trophies the Alabama Crimson Tide didn’t win this year. DeVonta Smith won the Heisman Trophy (and many other awards). Alabama players won 7 of the 12 trophies awarded during the College Football Awards Show.
Oh, and the Crimson Tide won a little thing called the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday night.
Now, coach Nick Saban has won another award. On Wednesday night, Saban won the Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Award:

Saban beat out Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly, Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher, Oregon’s Mario Cristobal, Iowa State’s Matt Campbell, Coastal Carolina’s Jamey Chadwell and Indiana’s Tom Allen.
The Bryant Award also raises money for the American Heart Association. LSU’s Ed Orgeron won the trophy last year.
