You don’t expect Nick Saban to bring up Tennessee on his weekly radio show in September, but the Volunteers got a mention from the Crimson Tide coach that likely got a chuckle from UA fans.

On his weekly “Hey Coach” show, Saban brought up Tennessee’s 38-30 Week 1 home loss to Georgia State when talking about not taking things for granted.

“Everybody takes everything for granted. I mean, I’m sure there were a lot of Tennessee fans last week that took it for granted that they were going to beat Georgia State, and they didn’t,” Saban said Thursday night. “So, you’ve got to play well … and you should support well all the time, as well.”

Since taking over at Alabama in 2007, Saban has won every meeting against the Third Saturday in October rivals. He will presumably make sure the Crimson Tide doesn’t take an Oct. 19 win for granted. ESPN’s Football Power Index gives UA a 95.7 percent chance of winning that game. The Vols are coached by former Alabama assistant Jeremy Pruitt.
