While some parts of college football are very predictable, such as, for example, preseason polls. There are other aspects of the sport that are changing all the time.

But ESPN’s Paul Finebaum outlined what he sees as a seismic change coming to the sport.

“You have the expansion of the playoff, whether it happens in two years or four or five. The biggest thing you have here is a major, seismic change in college football,” Finebaum said on “Get Up” recently with Mike Greenberg. “You mentioned it Greeny, it’s Nick Saban.”

Greenberg and Finebaum discussed how Alabama’s margin of victory, or gap in the polls, will narrow in the coming years.

“I’m not saying Alabama will go away, but history will show they will not be as dominant as they are right now,” Finebaum said. “I’ve given up trying to predict the end for Nick Saban. He’ll turn 70 in October and he’s as good today as he’s ever been. At some point, he is going to exit stage right. That is going to open the door for a lot of schools to suddenly grab that spot.”
