The New York Jets have announced the team had agreed to terms with its first-round pick just in time for training camp. Williams was the third overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Alabama.
During his only starting season in Tuscaloosa, Williams proved to be arguably the most dominant player in the country and won the Outland Trophy while manning the Crimson Tide’s defensive front seven.
Williams had missed the opening part of Jets training camp after not having a contract in hand but is expected to show up immediately to the team’s facility with a deal now reached.
