Rece Davis describes why this Alabama team is different from others under Nick Saban

Rece Davis sees something different in this Alabama team from previous ones, and it has to do with how close the Crimson Tide are to being a finished product.
This year, they have more room to grow, he said during a segment on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Monday. It’s the first time since either 2008 or 2009 for Davis that Alabama has this kind of a team.
“Alabama has entered virtually every season as close to a finished product,” he said. “Now there’s tweaking and there’s honing and there’s compensating for injuries, but the ceiling is not very far away from where Alabama starts, typically.”
This one is different, and Davis compared it to the Southern Cal team in 2016, as the Trojans lost multiple games early, and then got it together in the end.
“Alabama had room to grow and improve, and still has that, to grown and improve,” Davis said. “We’re just not used to seeing it. And it appears that they’ve taken some significant steps in that direction. And if they continue to do so, then maybe by late November, early December they will be that team. ‘You don’t want to deal with them now, you should have gotten them in September or early October, because they’re going to be a handful now.'”
Davis added that Jalen Milroe and the offensive line both need to continue to improve, if Alabama will have a chance to be really good.
