Nick Saban will reportedly be losing another defensive assistant coach after the National Championship Game against Georgia.

According to FootballScoop, the Tide’s defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley will become Colorado State’s defensive coordinator, joining former Georgia assistant Mike Bobo, who’s the head coach there. SEC connections all the way around.

So, Alabama will be losing defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt to Tennessee, and now, it will be losing Ansley to Colorado State. Obviously, Saban has a running list of assistants he’d hire should staff turnover be an issue, and he’ll have to replace the two positions.

Alabama hired former UTSA defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Pete Golding as the team’s 10th assistant last month.

Ansley started his coaching career at Alabama as a graduate assistant in 2010 and 2011 before becoming a defensive assistant at UCF, Tennessee and Kentucky. He returned to Alabama in 2016.
