Ever since the Alabama Crimson Tide hired Nate Oats to replace Avery Johnson, he’s had to work to get players to take their names out of the NCAA transfer portal.
Already, he’s convinced key players Kira Lewis Jr. and John Petty to remain in Tuscaloosa, but now another player has decided to explore transfer options.
Per AL.com’s Matt Zenitz, G Diante Wood has entered his name into the transfer portal as of Tuesday afternoon:
Alabama basketball guard Diante Wood has entered the NCAA transfer portal, per source.
Redshirted this past season.

Wood redshirted in 2018-19 after coming to Tuscaloosa as a 3-star member of the 2018 recruiting class.
He could still decide to remain with the Tide, but the fact that this decision came after the hiring of Oats and not before seems significant.
