Report: Crimson Tide LB present during triple homicide in Auburn
Crimson Tide LB Reuben Foster was present at an Alabama nightclub on April 23 when a shooting left three people dead, according to a report from AL.com.
The report indicates that Foster is not believed to have been involved in the shooting.
The incident occurred at Mr. D’s Lodge in Auburn, which is Foster’s hometown.
According to the AL.com report, Auburn police chief Paul Register gave this clarification about Foster’s involvement:
“There was no information that he or any other athletes were involved in the actual shooting itself,” Register said.
However, there is reason to believe he was friends with at least one of the victims.
AL.com transcribed a since-deleted tweet from Foster’s Twitter account indicating a relationship with Recco Cobb, who was one of the three killed on April 23.
“You my heart dawg my rider bra wherever I go you go wherever you go I go we had a PACK 1Love one for me and one for you brother R.I.P Recco Cobb #OG”
The police chief indicated that the incident was still under investigation and further charges could be filed.
Foster is expected to be a major contributor for the Crimson Tide this fall as a starting linebacker. He registered nine tackles during the Crimson Tide’s victory over Clemson in the College Football Playoff championship game back in January.
