Earlier this NFL season, the San Francisco 49ers released LB Reuben Foster after he was arrested for a domestic violence incident.

The Washington Redskins soon picked him up, but he was put on the commissioner’s exempt list for the rest of the season.

On Wednesday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell discussed Foster’s status, saying the NFL investigation into Foster’s actions continues (via AL.com):

“We continue our investigation into that,” Goodell said. “Whether the charges are dropped doesn’t necessarily mean there isn’t a violation of our personal-conduct policy. Reuben and I have met before. We will talk again. But we’ll conclude that investigation, make a determination and go from there.”

Foster’s future in the NFL seems very much up in the air still, as this wasn’t his first run-in with the law.

We’ll see if he takes the field for the Redskins in 2019, but at the moment, nothing has been decided.
